HOW TO BE YOU AND OWN IT

Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by. I thought it nice to take out some time to share my personal experiences one story at a time.

I sincerely hope my stories and lessons learned will inspire you to be you and to always remember that you are important and are enough. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am big on inspiring confidence and lifting spirits. I believe everyone is valuable and so I am intentional to spot and affirm the value I see in people.

Lately I started learning about childhood trauma and how it lives with us even into adulthood. Before you get excited, I am no psychologist or expert in this field, I’m just a woman who lived with low self-esteem which often derives from a childhood trauma. Traumas especially at early childhood can misguide a child’s perception of the world around them and the way they see themselves. Why am I sharing all these you may ask? Please walk with me and it will eventually make sense 😊

For me, I had never felt good enough as a child and some of those feelings lingered on even into my adulthood. I didn’t feel pretty enough, smart enough, eloquent enough, kind enough… the list goes on and on. As a matter of fact, I sold myself short at every opportunity I got; the vicious cycle of low self-esteem, leading to more low self-esteem.
One might wonder “where did such a demeaning mindset come from?”, that is a story for another day, suffice it to say that the mind is indeed a powerful thing and a huge driver of our realities.

While many people may not be able to figure out the root of such negative perception, the good news is that you don’t necessarily need to know it to heal and move on with living your most beautiful and impactful life. If I could, YOU CAN! 🥳

My journey to healing was a slow but interesting one…

Have you or anyone you know experienced any force of trauma that has in anyway limited you from being “You”?
