Our inception is anchored in the remarkable origin story of our founder Ijeoma and her siblings which take place many Christmases’ ago. We invite you now to journey with us into the past and meet our Chief Creative, Ijeoma at the place where it all began.
It was the end of the year, and it had been a particularly difficult one for this young family with 5 children, that essentially meant there would be no gifts at Christmas, maybe next year if things were better.That night in their house, all the lights were off, save for one room: and the silence of the night broken by the intermittent sound of a sewing mill.
Early on Christmas morning, there was some confusion among the youngsters as gifts of new clothes had miraculously appeared out of thin air. That “thin air” was the ever-loving heart of a mother, who seeing the disappointment in her children’s eyes, had stayed up all night, working on making them outfits with which they could shine and be happy on Christmas morning.
